What happens when a college psych study goes shockingly wrong? In this tense, psychological thriller based on the notorious true story, Billy Crudup stars as Stanford University professor Dr. Philip Zimbardo, who, in 1971, cast 24 student volunteers as prisoners and guards in a simulated jail to examine the source of abusive behavior in the prison system. The results astonished the world, as participants went from middle-class undergrads to drunk-with-power sadists and submissive victims in just a few days. Winner of two awards at the Sundance Film Festival, including Best Screenplay, and created with the close participation of Dr. Zimbardo himself, ‘The Stanford Prison Experiment’ is a chilling, edge-of-your-seat thriller about the dark side of power and the effects of imprisonment. Featuring an extraordinary cast of rising young actors, including Ezra Miller, Olivia Thirlby, Tye Sheridan, Keir Gilchrist, Michael Angarano, and Thomas Mann.

  1. Stanford stands for what? Teaching and endorsing violence on all levels of society. Anti establishment. Lack of professionalism. Protests. Beat it into the,. A fearful, act. Just as,the video from the Doctors. Bloody and a disgrace to the public who have helped fund such disrespect of the Medical Profession.

  2. Is Stanford trying to replace Hollywood? A place for education and a place for the Scream. Not in Professionalism. Stanford is the mindset into outrageous acts in our society. Look in the mirror. What is happening to the USA and Stanford. This.

  3. Stanford. Early sixties. Chicago suburb. A nurses were captured from a hospital and school on their way home. Fifty of,them brought to the same place and systematically raped, abused, murdered. One lay under a bed and escaped alive. Does this abuse fancy your ethics, morals. Want this from Stanford. That is what your videos look like glorifying abuse , blood, no response. Psychologically out of sync. Protest Hillary Clinton said. Anti establish,ENT. Who dare to teach a Stanford . We know and want to control all the endowment funds. Bull. You are students. Human beings Dr get sick it is,not, faked and pay you. You think it is else where. You have brought it to Stanford. Pandorah box is opened.

  4. Omg Professor Philip Zimbardo and those sadistic guards should have been arrested for this experiment. .. How did none of those prisoners not sue after? Anyone who thinks up and perpetrates abuse and mind f***ing on this level is a narcissistic psychopath!

  5. screw all the comments complaining about the movie. it was amazing and definitely worth the watch for people with a more deeply thinking mind in my opinion, since you really need to get past all of the 'weird shit' and remember this actually happened to real people

  6. These phsycologists hired a bunch of pussy's to do this experiment, especially the prisoners, if only they hired a real muthafucka, that experiment would've ended in a couple of hours.

  7. GUYS THIS PROVES WHAT NORMAL HUMAN LIKE OUR SELVES ARE CAPABLE OF. THE GUARDS DIDNT SEE THEMSLEVES ACTUALLY BEHAVING THIS WAY THEY WERE "playing into character" WHEN ACT AS A BAD PERSON IN A PLAY AND U DO SOMETHING BAD U DONT SEE YOURSELF DOING IT JUST AS UR ROLEPLAYING AS. THESE MEN AND WOMEN HAD SIMILAR MINDSET

  8. It's easy to understand how Nazis did what they did. Also reminds me of that experiment where people were told to increase the intensity of electric shocks.

  9. I love Ezra but It does not mean I like this movie. The trailer makes me feel It's not enough mental fear, Its color is too light. I like the 2010's version more. I'm going to see the 2015's version this afternoon, I hope it is better than the trailer
